Why are there colored dots on soda cans?

The colored dots found on aluminum soda cans near the nutrition information consist of all of the colors used in the can design. Of course, these colors vary depending on the design of the can. During manufacturing, a number of different machines apply color to each can; usually, each machine uses only one color. If a can makes it through production and its red dot, for example, is faded or absent, then laborers will be able to trace the problem to the single machine applying red color, without shutting down all of the machines to resolve the problem.

  1. I took this as inspiration for why I keep debugging information in final production code. As the dots on the can are sort of like debug information on a final product.

  2. Never thought I would have to Google "what are the colored dots on the side of my rootbeer can for?" but today was the day. I assumed it was for the colors of the can's design, but I hoped for something far more sinister. Alas, there is no danger afoot this time. I shall sip in glorious, peaceful fashion now. Good day.

  4. There are two underlined digits at bottom of the soda cans as well as a color dot and as far as i know, the dots are not there just for the can's design. the color dots are there for something else and i am currently reading and investigating about this online. I always wonder that, why aren't there colored dots on a tonic soda water can?
why do people drink coca cola etc anyways? I call them the poison cans because there is 39 grams of sugar in a can of soda which equals to 20 sachets of sugar that you see at Starbucks everyday and you won't even put two in your cup because you think its a lot but there are 20 of them in your can of sweet tasting soda can :D.

The underlined two digits is something new and i noticed it the other day when my friend was drinking out of a can i noticed the number. Soda should be banned, this is very bad for our kids and a lot of people die from this stuff.
